VolunteerCorps is a not-for-profit, voluntary organization established in 1992 by a group of Nigerians who believe in the concept of giving back to the society. We are fully locally funded with credible Board members and no political affiliations.

We seek to fill the following vacancies arising as a result of the restructuring and expansion of our operations.

State Coordinator, Lagos

Role Summary: Developing and implementing strategies to sustainably roll out extramural coaching classes in public schools with a view to turning around poor performance in national and state examinations and in the long term impacting the lives of disadvantaged students in the state positively.

Type of Position: Full-time/fixed remuneration/permanent (contingent upon successful completion of probation of 3 to 6 months). This is a senior level position with attractive terms of engagement.

Summary of Qualifications, Experience and Competencies

The ideal candidate would meet the following specifications:

  • A minimum of a first degree either in Education (preferably) or any other relevant discipline from a top-tier institution plus at least 15 years work experience in the teaching profession. Most of this would have been spent in public schools, and the incumbent would have attained at least School Principal level.
  • A postgraduate qualification or evidence of CPD would be a distinct advantage.
  • Very good communication skills; written and oral.
  • Good working knowledge of computers.
  • Ability and willingness to learn and apply new concepts quickly.
  • High sense of commitment.
  • Proactive, creative, and flexible.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and inspire the team to achieve goals.
  • Highly developed leadership skills.
  • Resident in Lagos, and able and willing to travel extensively within the State.

State Coordinator, Osun

The role summary and specifications are the same for position 1.  However, the incumbent would be resident in Osogbo and be required to travel extensively within the State of Osun.

Fund Raising Coordinator

Role Summary: Developing and implementing strategies to sustainably fund the rollout of extramural coaching classes in public schools.

Type of Position: Full-time/variable remuneration (contingent upon funds raised).

Summary of Qualifications, Experience and Competencies

The ideal candidate would meet the following specifications:

  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • A proven track record of having successfully carried out fundraising for medium to large non-profits.
  • High level of proficiency working with digital media in general, and social media savvy in particular.
